Re: The Nerve!
Hi everyone,
I agree - what is at issue here is that no vendor should have contacted an
employer based on what is posted to this list if what was posted is not
slanderous.
It happened to me too - I had a vendor contact my legal department because I
recommended a competitor's product over theirs. At the time, I too didn't
realize this was an offense - but this vendor took it as an attack on their
equipment - even though I said nothing AGAINST theirs - just FOR their
competitor.
I personally like all of the sales reps I deal with and the help I have
received from them is wonderful - but I do take offense that we are
"bought" by trinkets and gifts. The pens and notepads are nice and I do
appreciate them - but the decisions I make are based on the fact that I want
the most reliable equipment at the best price for my lab- not based on some
great pen someone gave to me or the members of my staff. And - with
apologies to the vendors of products in which they have no confidence - I'm
going to recommend the better products when I'm asked.
Just my thoughts.
Louri
