another "brainy" question
From: | Andrea Grantham <algranth@u.arizona.edu> |
Me again.
A few days ago I was asking about Timm's stain for neurodegeneration. Thank
you Geoff McAuliffe, John Kiernan, and others who sent advice. In lieu of
doing the Marchi method "we" have decided to do the Luxol Fast Blue - Oil
Red O Stain. :-)
Everybody mentions LFB-ORO in their discussion but I don't have a real
procedure. What I need to know is this, do you do the LFB and then the Oil
Red O? I'm figuring this is how to go about it. And, does it matter if you
use Oil Red made up in Isopropyl Alcohol or Prop. Glycol?
Another method talks of Neutral Red to include Nissl. I have Neutral Red
Iodide. Is this what I want to use? If not I'll need to get plain old
Neutral Red.
Thanks, thanks in advance. What would I do without histonet?
Andi
