Re: Shandon stai;ner and coverslipper

From:Richard Pitman <Richard.Pitman@worcsacute.wmids.nhs.uk>

We have the Shandon Gemini on trial at the moment. After initial reservations regarding the sheer bulk of the thing, I have to say that I really like it.

It has five heated stations for slide drying, a very effective plumbed in water wash, and a simple to use software setup similar to the PathCentre enclosed processor. Even includes reagent management.

Mutltiple stains can be run concurrently, or do the same stain eg H&E several times. No reliability problems so far.

Hi
Thanks to those who answered my questions about the Leica and Sakura coverslipper.

Now I have another question: does anyone have the newest Shandon two level "xyz" automated stainer and/or their coverslipper? Any comments would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
