The Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center, South Carolina's premiere tertiary care Medical Center has immediate openings for experienced Histology professionals to staff our growing laboratories. 1.  TECHNICAL COORDINATOR- SPECIAL STAINS LAB    $ 1500  SIGN ON BONUS  =20
Applicants must hold a bachelors degree in medical technology, biology or other life science. Successful completion of formal course work in histologic techniques or a minimum of 5 years clinical histology experience is preferred. ASCP certification or equivalent preferred. Experience in special staining techniques, immunohistochemistry and/or in situ hybridization is highly desirable. Willing to train promising candidate.  The successful candidate for this position will be a self-starter capable of supervising an experienced staff in a busy surgical pathology service that provides around the clock technical support. This individual will possess technical expertise in the preparation of high quality microscopic sections , as well as a proven track record in the supervision of day to day operations.  Candidate must be customer service oriented and equipped to meet the needs of this busy diagnostic service while ensuring that the highest standards of excellence are maintained for the delivery of patient care at the medical center.

2. HISTOTECHNOLOGIST  $ 1500 SIGN ON BONUS for experienced applicants -  A bachelors degree medical technology, biology or other life science OR an Associates Degree in a similar discipline with HT(ASCP) or equivalent certification AND two years of clinical histology experience are required. Experience in speical stains and/or immunohistochemistry desireable. Willing to train promising candidate 

The work hours for these positions are flexible but will include some combination of evening and night shift hours between the period of 4 pm and 7:30 am, affording an opportunity for those interested in continuing their education to attend daytime classes.
