Penny,
I concur with Dana about different manufacturer's antibody diluents. Some antibodies of one company may not be stable with another's diluent. I had a problem with an actin antibody, that would break down in a few days and give a lot of background staining until I went back to using the same company's diluent.
This problem may not arise, if you only dilute what you will use that day, but I want to be able to store the diluted antibody at least a few weeks, if not months.
