Re: Washington earthquake

UWMC update,

Our lab is located underground, aren't we all. I'm from California, so this is
nothing new. There was a lot of movement and it was one the longest lasting
ones that I have been through. We had no damage to the lab or any major damage
to the medical center. Many surface cracks in walls, but nothing structural. I
have not spoken with evryone from other hospitals, but by the news, all the
Seattle based facilities survived any major damage. For many this was their
first one and you could definately see the panic that sets in. Communications
were down for awhile, local cell phone service was disrupted. One of the techs
used their cell phone to call family in Florida, who already had heard about it
on CNN within 10 minutes. Thank you all for your concern.
