Air dry is fine, cells will look a bit different, drying artifact, also 
sometimes the lidocaine or benzocaine used on the patient can interfere with 
stain quality, methanol gets rid of that. Do both ways and show him the two, 
do not tell him which is which.
Maybe you can confince him that methanol is not a bad way to go.
