Hi HistoNetters!

Joyce Smith asks about sources of microwave special stain protocols. There
are many good procedures provided in Kok and Boon's "Microwave Cookbook for
Microscopists." However, as anyone who has taken one of my workshops will
know, I urge anyone who is planning to adapt any protocols to a microwave
for a laboratory to perform some simple calibration procedures on their
instrument, including determination of power output (in watts) and duty
cycle. For a complete calibration procedure, see Login and Dvorak's
"Microwave Tool Book."

Best regards,
Steven Slap, Vice-President
