	RESEARCH ASSOCIATE II

Department of Veterinary Pathology, School of Veterinary Medicine,
Louisiana State University

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
	Participate in all aspects of tissue preparation, including fixation,
trimming, processing, embedding and gutting following standard laboratory
procedures.  Assist supervisor in preparation of laboratory reagents,
perform special staining procedures; keep accurate records of all
laboratory activities; maintain work area; file specimens, blocks and
slides; maintain equipment; inventory control; and quality control in a
busy diagnostic and GLP research laboratory.

QUALIFICATIONS:
	Minimum requirements: 1) Baccalaureate degree in a biological science and
1 year experience in  histopathology laboratory techniques; 2)
certification as a histologic technician, HT(ASCP), with a minimum of 3
years experience; or 3) five (5) years experience as a histologic
technician may be considered in lieu of # 1 or 2.  Knowledge of basic
computer skills is desirable.

Salary commensurate with training and experience.
