To expand on the topic of mouse organ fixation, I am involved in setting up a
prion pathogenesis unit. Part of our work will involve a small amount of
histology and Immunohistochemistry on mouse brains and spleens. I have a few
problems with the availability of space and the limit on the amounts of solvents
that can be kept in the lab.
I have a couple of questions.
1. Is there a small benchtop processor available that doesn't use as much
solvents as the full size processors?
2. Can I use a laboratory microwave to process these tissues, and if so, does
anyone have any protocols for this?
Thanks,
