Yes, it is in Bancroft, Manual for Histological Techniques on page 93 and
appears to be primarily for neuro diagnosis.  If you need the procedure let

I am doing a routine Congo Red stain for Amyloid deposits, but has anyone
out
there ever heard of a Potassium Permanganate 1% dip to bleach and
distinguish
between primary and secondary amyloid??? This may be an old procedure.  Any
