Good Morning,

Manufacturers should have this information on the product label. If you
are purchasing chemicals from a manufacturer who does not list this
information, you may want to find one that does most likely they are ISO or
GMP compliant which also insures good manufacturing practices. This type
of information should also be available on the product MSDS.

If you need MSDS Sheets feel free to visit EM Science website,
www.emscience.com, enter a chemical name. Once you are in the product
specifications, to the left you will see a prompts for MSDS and
transportation. The class information is available under transportation.

Usually class information is used for transporting chemicals and would most
likely not be on a label. I looked in a Lab Safety catalog to see if class
information was used to refer to different ratings on flammable cabinets
and it is not.

Lab Safety is an excellent source for labels, I use to buy a lot of safety
equipment from them. You may want to give their tech services a call at
800-356-2501.

If I can help you, please feel free to contact me at 800-222-0342, ext 443.

Hi All,
We have recently received our CAP checklist for inspection in September.
One of the new questions in the Laboratory General checklist states: Are
precautionary labels present on the containers of all hazardous chemicals
(flammable liquids Classes I, II, and IIIA: corrosives; irritants;
asphyxiants; potential carcinogens; etc.), indicating type of hazard and
what to do if accidental contact occurs? Phase II Question Number 01.7285.
How are labs labeling each container on what to do if contact occurs?

Thanks in advance,
Donna Willis
