The Pathology Department of Northwest Regional Laboratory at St. Joseph
Hospital in Bellingham, WA has an immediate opening for a 0.8 FTE (3/4 time)
ASCP registered HT/HTL. Full Benefits.  Shifts are 0430-1300 or 0500-1330,
Monday through Friday.  No evenings or weekends.  Routine histology duties
include embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining, and
immunohistochemistry.  No gross assisting.

We are a CAP accredited lab with 4+ Histotechs, 5+ Pathology Assistants, 2
Cytologists and 5 Pathologists.  We average 170 blocks/200 slides per day,
plus 2 IHC runs with an average of 60 slides per week.

The successful candidate will be dependable, detail oriented, organized, a
self starter, and a team player.  He/she will have superior histology
skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with
a primary focus on providing a high quality product.

Bellingham is located 90 miles north of Seattle and just 50 miles south of
Vancouver, British Columbia.  With mountains to the south and west, rolling
farmland stretching north to the Canadian Coastal Range, and northern Puget
Sound and the San Juan Islands to the west, the area offers a wide variety
of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, mountain climbing, biking,
kayaking, sailing, skiing (Mt. Baker is just an hour away!), and much more.
Bellingham is a culturally diverse city with all the amenities of the "big
city" in a charming, friendly, small-town atmosphere.
