Hi Katie,
We do H&E on GMA. This is the procedure:
1. Gill's Hematoxylin 30-35 minutes
2. Two changes of distilled water, 10 dips each change
3. Scott's Tap water for 3 minutes.
4. Repeat rinses as in step 2.
5. Eosin Y/Phloxine B for 6-10 minutes.
6. Distilled water, 10 dips or less.
7. 2 changes of Abs, 2 changes xylene, coverslip.
(may be able to let it air dry after step 6 and coverslip)
Eosin/Phloxine
2.5 gm Eosin Y
0.5 gm Phloxine B
0.6 ml glacial acetic acid
500 ml distilled water
filter before use.

Looking for a recipe for Methylene Blue-Basic Fuchsin stain to do in
GMA embedded tissues. My boss tells me it is the "old" way to do
something like an H+E in plastic.
Thanks!
