Dear Sara,
ideally one should be using stomach with intestinal metaplasia, which is one
of the main features alcian blue after Steedman et,.al is used to
demonstrate in human pathology. The ease of getting such tissue in suffient
amounts to use as a control is unlikely unless you have access to a large
surgical institution, at any rate you will find that small bowel will do
very well, it just means that you will have a very strong positive.
