Joanne,

Mowry method from Carsons "Histotechnology", 2nd Ed, and Hales method from
Bancroft, 4th ed.

The only difference is that the Muller-Mowery method uses a 12 percent
acetic acid rinse before and after incubation in the colloidal iron
solution. The pre-rinse prevents dilution of the colloidal iron solution by
water and the post-rinse is a differentiating solution.

Histonetters,
What is the difference between Mowry's colloidal iron and Hales'
colloidal
iron. I have look in every Histology book and cannot find the answer. Please
help.
