Several months ago I fell for a similar e-mail (the one that said that the
long distance carriers were going to be billing internet access as long
distance calls).  After I sent a very pointed letter to ALL my congressional
and senate delegates, I found that there was no basis for my being upset.

Be very wary of information like this.  Disregard it entirely if it is
accompanied by a solicitation for money.  At least all my politicians knew
the importance of the internet, of e-mail, and of their value in our growing
and e-developing economy.  ANY politician that endorsed such legislation
would be signing his/her own political death warrant.
