Dear Histonetters: Just a note to relate my experiences with the travel
company that is handling the airfares for the convention. The first time
I called they didn't seem to have any idea about what convention or what
special fares I was talking about. The second time they had it right
but they weren't going to give me the 15% off the airfare until I
pointed out it was in their announcement and it really was over 60 days
until October 15th. If you rent a car from them, they quoted me $50 a
day for a compact! I think you would be better off renting from your
regular dealer(National, etc, especially if you have a regular account
with them) or doing some browsing on the Internet.
For us west coasters, it's a 7 1/2 hour flight to get to Providence. Be
sure to bring a BIG book to read.
Regards, Tom
