Histonetters, in particular HT/HTL Program Directors -

Sorry for the confusion I caused a couple of weeks ago concerning the
comparison of HT and MLT Accreditation Essentials from NAACLS that I
posted a couple of weeks ago.

It seems that I, being on one of the NAACLS subcommittees, received
a copy of the new proposed MT essentials (as did all MT program
directors), and was asked to comment. I was also sent a copy of
the HT and MLT essentials, and was also asked to comment.

What was not explained to me in the letter was that the HT and
MLT essentials had NOT yet gone to the subcommittee, and that
the changes made at that point were done by the NAACLS office.
These were only some very basic, preliminary changes. I also
did not realize that these essentials were not yet going
out to the HT and MLT program directors, do until they had
been through that subcommittee (not the one I'm on).

The ONLY essentials available for comment from the public and
other program directors at this point are the MT essentials.

I have responded to NAACLS concerning our/your comments on the
HT and MLT essentials that I posted. These will be passed
along to proper NAACLS subcommittee.

THEN, after the subcommittee finishes with the MT essentials,
they are planning on modifying the HTL, HT and MLT essentials.
AFTER that, we should be getting their proposed changes sent to all
HT/HTL program directors, for all of us to comment on. At that
point, I'll probably be back on Histonet, asking for comments.

My next Histonet mail will be about the MT essentials, which I
feel we HT and HTL need to respond to, as NAACLS will be basing
what the HT and HTL essentials will be as compared to the MT.

So PLEASE answer my next mail. There is no need to answer this
mail. If you REALLY feel the need to respond to this, please
email me directly, so as not to clog up Histonet.

Thanks.
