I just recently purchased a Leica IPC Cassette writer after looking at many brands with the Thermo being one of the finalists.  My decision was based on ease of integration down the road and I really like the engineering behind the design.  Of course everyone has some hiccups with any major purchase but, overall they are both excellent instruments and from personal experience I would recommend the Leica IPC for quality and the in house technical support that I was given when I recently had some issues.  It's a good reliable instrument and  I really like the functionality of the instrument within my facility .  

 Lastly, lets not forget our patient safety goals are calling for "two identifiers", the Leica IPC does this very nicely.
