I-sanna somewhere asks about celloidin preparation:
Celloidin is made up in 50% absolute alcohol, 50% ether. When preparing it though, it is best to let the dry celloidin stay in the absolute alcohol for 24 hours, and then add the ether. It dissolves faster that way.

Celloidin is frightfully expensive these days, where did you purchase yours from?
