we have the Nexes and the dako ihc stainers, both work well and give good quality staining. in addressing cost, my most expensive commodity is people, of which i do not have, so stainers can be justified versus people, also it doesn't hurt to be a tough negotiator with all the companies, there are also new stainers on the horizon, so i would keep my mind and ears open. labs needs really determine the stainer of choice, #
of techs, levels of ability, total volumes of stains,time off,
in histo or seperate dept. There is never only one answer.
