It has been a sad time for the histology community with the loss of Steve
Slap.  He did so much for our field and no matter when you needed him, he
was there to help out.  We were one of the fortunate societies that had the
opportunity to have Steve at our meetings.  We asked and he delivered.  He
will always be remembered as a pioneer of the new generation of
Histotechnology.
