We have frequently used 5% formic acid decalcified mouse bone for
demonstration of BrdU without any lose of staining.  We fixed in zinc
formalin for no longer than 48 hours and decaled in 5% formic acid.

Hello,

I am writing to ask if anybody has experience using BRDU in decalcified
bone.  We typically use acid decalcification of formalin-fixed mouse
bone.  I had heard that the decalcification could cause problems for
subsequent BRDU immunohistochemistry.  Is it necessary to use EDTA
instead?
