I am trying to get information regarding staffing of specialty areas in other laboratories.  My department is responsible for Immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, image analysis and FISH procedures on clinical samples.  Generally speaking in laboratories that may be similar, are the techs within your departments classified the same as all other techs or do different levels exist within your institution?  I realize this question is perhaps too vague but any information from other institutions/markets is appreciated.
