Because of the presence of mercuric chloride in Zenker's, it can not go down the drain. I only know of it being sent out for hazardous waste disposal. (We don't use it anymore, so we don't have this issue now.)

Try checking with your safety office, they may be able to give you guidance in proper disposal.
