Humidity and Xylene Subs

From:Linda Stirpe

Hi Fellow Histonetters,

Now that summer and humidity is upon us our lab is
having the usual "bleeding eosin" problem. Last year
we were staining by hand but this year we were lucky
enough to get an automatic stainer which we thought
would take care of the problem - guess again. We are
using Richard Allan Clear Rite 3 which I know loves to
absorb water. I remember some literature about
"absorbant beads" to place in the Xylene Subs to help
with this problem. Since I cannot find the literature
- does anyone know the name, supplier, price, etc. and
most important do they work? Thanks!

Have a great holiday!
