After having been the recipient of much kindness from Histonet I'm happy to
finally be able to offer an answer:  There's a great used equipment company
in Lorton, VA that sells all kinds of refurbished lab equipment:

These guys really know their stuff!  I obtained a cryostat from them for
$3000 that has worked great for me, and they were very helpful with advice
