Re: Working in the UK

i have to say i found in my travels around England and Scottland to be beautiful, far from being an "enviromental dessert", it was very green with open spaces.  i did find the streets in the city to be dirty- haven't they heard of the "give a hoot, don't pollute" campaign, trash pick up needs improvement.  basically for such a small place with so many people i thought they had a lot of beautiful country side areas.

I agree with Ian to an extent, the UK is expensive, and parts of it are dirty, like London, but it is far from an environmental desert and outside the South East, the natives are friendly. But to bring this more on topic, we have some very good histo labs, and the training for histotechs within the NHS is superb, just a shame they don't pay a decent wage to keep us there (says one who escaped into industry a good while ago!).CheersNick

Been following the latest posting on working in the UK. Question I ask myself is why on earth someone would want to work in the UK. The country is dirty, expensive and an environmental desert. Natives are friendly but what other choices do we have.
Ian.
