Check the concentration of ammonia in your silver solution, a little too much will cause sections to lift. Also if you use permanganate/oxalic acid, try decreasing the times.

Fran,
how ot is yor oven?  You might want to leave the slides in the oven 10
minutes longer.  Are you microwaving the sliver?  Sometimes our GMS sections
float off, but I think it's because some of the techs try to cut corners and
shorten the time the slides are in the oven.
I also purchase my ammonia in 500 mL bottles, never had a problem, even
toward the bottom of the bottle. We usually used up one bottle evey six
months.  But then again, how fresh is fresh?  Hope I was some help.
