JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide supervision of instruction and other full and part time faculty assigned to the Histologic Technician Program.  Oversee the accreditation process and maintain accreditation standards as outlined by the external accrediting agency (NAACLS).  Performs all necessary functions to admit new students and help students to successfully complete the program.  Performs all other relevant duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   N/A

BUDGETING AUTHORITY:   N/A

TRAVEL REQUIRED:   Minimal travel may be required.

REPORTS TO:    Dean of Health Sciences

 REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:	Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree and currently certified as histologic technician (ASCP) and histologic technologist. (ASCP)   Photocopy of college transcript showing degree conferred and copy of required certification must accompany the application.   Official transcript is required at time of employment.

 CERTIFICATION:   Current certification as histologic technician (ASCP) and histologic technologist (ASCP)
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years experience as histologic technician/technologist.  Preference will be given to individuals with a variety of experience in the laboratory settings as well as supervisory experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS:  Basic personal computer knowledge and skills.

PHYSICAL ABILITY:   N/A

 PREFERENCES:
Preference will be given for teaching experience in hospital setting and/or educational setting.
