Re: Alzeheimers stain
Thanks Cathy..One of our Pathologists gave me a zerox  of an old  Jamarri Silver Technique..I couldn't find it anywhere! Not even on line.I was leaning toward a Bielsowsky..but didn't know if a microwave procedure was available.. I'm going to look into it! Thanks much!

What you may be looking for is a MODIFIED BIELSOWSKY (GARVEY) SILVER stain. It is a silver stain and as such is reasonably fiddly, but part of the heating of the silver solution is performed in the microwave. If done well it demonstrates both plaques and tangles in Alzheimer's brains. Methods can be found in most histology text books, in the nervous tissue section.

Cheers, Cath
