RE: microtome
We have 2 Leica RM 2155 automatic microtomes. These microtomes are an answer
to a histotechs prayers. I have repetitive motion injuries to my right elbow
and wrist. This microtome has allowed me to continue to be able to section
blocks daily. I can only sing its praises as it has been an excellent
machine that cuts sections beautifully. The stress is taken off of my arm
and wrist and now I am a "happy camper". Please ask for a demo model be
brought to your lab to try out. Of course, there are other automicrotomes on
the market and you should definitely try them out before you make a
decision. The vendors will be more than happy to bring a demo unit for you
to try out for a few days. An automicrotome is the only way to go. Just my
opinion of course. I hope that this information helps you.
Have a Great Histo Day,

Our lab is in the process of looking for a new microtome. We currently have
a Reichert-Jung 2030 and a Leica 2135. I use the Reichert-Jung and prefer
it over the Leica. I am also left-handed, although I don't have any
problems cutting. I would appreciate any thoughts on this as well as
possible vendors. Thank You.
