The Sonia and Steve Raymund Endowed Laboratory for Pediatric Cardiology Research is seeking a qualified individual to join its Research Team in a new research building on the University of South Florida's campus in St Petersburg, Florida.  

The individual must be competent in molecular techniques such as: protein and nucleic acid purification and identification; PCR & RT-PCR; protein and nucleotide electrophoresis; membrane blotting, staining and hybridization; in situ hybridization. Experience with immunohistochemical techniques, gene sequencing, plasmid preparation and gene cloning is desired. The individual must also be able to initiate and maintain both animal and human cultured cells. Animal experimentation techniques include in vivo placement of catheters and organ sampling. Record keeping, reagent preparation, supply ordering and data processing are supportive duties. Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel, EndNotes and Word Processing software packages is required.

Minimum Education Requirements - B.S. (Biological Science). Alternatively, an Associates degree and National/State Technician/Technologist Licensure in a related field and with appropriate experience may be considered.
