We have seven HT's working in our lab, six of whom are registered.  The
unregistered tech has been here for 15+ years and took the exam many years
ago but did not pass.  She has no interest (or is afraid) in trying again.
We have different salaries for registered (HT II) and unregistered (HT I)
histotechs.

We have also trained several lab assistants to do some embedding but they
still get paid their Lab Assistant salary.
