Hi all,

I have a billing question for those of you who deal with such things. I have
read on the Histonet that one "decal" charge is permitted per specimen. We
are currently billing for each decal block. One pathologist argues that it
does not specify in the CPT code book that there is to be only one charge
per specimen. Is anyone aware of anything pertaining directly to this
written in a reg somewhere? Any ideas where I could get more specific info?
My head tells me it should only be one charge and I worry about Medicare
fraud/abuse. I know this pathologist will only respond to something in
writing, understandably.

Thanks in advance for any info.
