Hi Lauren,
Don't know the answer to that one. I'm not into Gynae cytology, but 
imagine a mast cell in a smear would be a pretty rare event.
Used to have a pathologist here who was keen on Pap staining of 
sections, particularly those containing epithelium (not surprisingly). 
 I do not remember noticing bron mast cells in those.
Good question though; when I finish working through the sixty e-
mails in front of me, maybe I will read a wiser response who which 
will show the answer.
