Hi,
I'm a research assistant at Lawrence Berkeley Lab and we're working on a
new protocol using paraffin embedding and I was wondering if you could
offer advice on what type to use. We're doing studies that require
sections of 4um as well as 40-80um, so what melting point would be best
for paraffin wax? We were thinking of a 50-55C mp range, but any
suggestions? Also, I've found embedding medias by Fisher which use low
molecular polymers along with purified paraffins. Has anyone used this
and any input on its effects on staining procedures? Thanks for your
help.
