Dear Histonetters - a PhD student here @ Melbourne Uni. posted a request via the Histonet the latter part of May & he did get one response but he was hoping for a "few" methods so I'm sending out another request for help. Adam would like to see if the chromosomes are in the process of replicating or "just stagnant". his original email was:
"Hi -I'm Adam Link, an Honours student in the Zoology Dept at The University. of Melbourne, Australia
I'm attempting to stain oocytes that are matured in vitro with the aim of identifying whether prophase is reached or if the oocyte has matured to mataphase.
Many thanks in advance for your help

PS Thanks to Patsy Ruegg for your suggestion - will give it a try!!
