Hi Rena,
The standard mix for formal sublimate is: 900cc of saturated aqueous
mercuric chloride and 100cc of 40% formaldehyde. The buffered mix
(according to Bancroft) is: Mercuric chloride 6gm; distilled water 90ml;
Sodium acetate 1.25gm; 40% formaldehyde 10ml. The formaldehyde is added
last after the mercuric chloride has dissolved.
