Hi Phil,
We had this problem on and off and eventually pinpointed it to a
particular technologist's cutting style. When cutting a ribbon, she was
rotating the wheel itself with her hand, instead of the handle of the
fly wheel. She was not letting the microtome do the precise work it was
designed to do. Also we find that cutting soft biopsies like gastrics,
very slooow is best. Katri
