  Studying the Molecular Probes catalogue for a few
  hours reveals that the Alexa name does not apply to
  any distinct group of compounds. They are all to be
  found elsewhere in the catalogue under different,
  often more ordinary names, and they do not have
  any particular chemical features in common.
