hi coni,
we've been working with a protocol from stanford med. center (another local
hosp. with no histo lab does them and sends them to us). here's what they
ask for: slides labeled #1-4 from early face of the block (#1 is H&E and
ours to keep for files, #2-4 are unstained), cut about halfway in to the
block and take slides #5-8 (also unstained). we added a bit to it and also
take additional unstained sections prior to #5-8 for our own keratin
staining (the unstained slides are sent to stanford for the keratin).
now, if we can just get the surgeon's to understand that sentinal refers to
just ONE l.n......they keep pulling out 2-5 nodes and calling them ALL
sentinals!!
