A position will become available in my laboratory beginning about
October 1. We are in the Shriners Burns Hospital in Galveston,
Texas, on an island on the Gulf coast near Houston. The job is
supported by charitable donations and is from a firm budget for
patient care. The main responsibilities are to prepare histologic
sections of skin biopsies and autopsy slides, including special
stains and some frozen sections. I also manage the core
electron microscopy laboratory for the Shrine researchers, so the
person in this job would be expected to share the research work
of that lab as time permits, including immunostaining and in situ
hybridization work using Ventana equipment, and some transmission
and scanning EM work. Backup support is available from the EM
lab personnel and from the university lab across the street, so
somewhat flexible time arrangements can be made.

Hal Hawkins
Galveston, Texas
