Dear Histonetters:  My company is currently hiring for a chemistry lab
technician position.  We are looking for someone with histology
experience to work on various R&D projects which involve numerous types
of samples including human tissue in a small but growing startup company
of 17 people.  We plan to hire as soon as possible for one position now

Job title: Chemistry Lab Technician
Reports to: Chemistry Lab Manager

Responsibilities:  The chemistry lab technician will be responsible for
processing and production of organic and inorganic samples to include
human and animal tissue for digital imaging.  Duties include but are not
limited to:

#183# Processing samples utilizing various fixatives and chemicals.
#183# Preparation and staining frozen sections.
#183# Preparation of various plastic polymers and dyes.
#183# Perform immunohistochemistry staining.
#183# Computer entry and logbook record keeping.
#183# Work with Cecil spectrophotometer and PTI fluorescence system. 
#183# Work with other members of the lab on various ongoing R&D projects.

Qualifications:  Requires a Bachelor's degree in biology or related
discipline and minimum of 3-5 years histology experience.  Must have
experience in tissue fixation and processing, good laboratory and record
keeping skills.  Computer skills a plus.  Must be research oriented. 
Spectrophotometer experience a plus but not required.    Must have
experience with immunohistochemistry.  Must be able to work
independently.  The company needs flexible, experienced laboratory
technicians who are comfortable in the relatively unstructured
environment of a startup company.

Hours:  Based on 8:00-5:00

Exempt:  Salary commensurate with experience
