Richard, I guess you could say, our EM Lab was at the "receiving end" of
the specimen that "walked out" of the hospital.  But I tell you, the first
time we billed the hospital and they said "no letter of authorization
accompanied with the specimen we accepted from that doctor, therefore said
hospital will not pay" was the first and last time our EM lab accepted ANY
specimens from that particular Doctor whom walked out of the hospital with
the specimen, UNLESS he had a letter of authorization for us to accept the
specimen. Our lab has never heard from him since and we continue receiving
specimens from that particular hospital with, as long as a letter of
authorization is with the specimen. Teresa
