Technical Aspects of Immunohistochemistry

This workshop is designed to address the technical aspects of
Immunohistochemistry.
The presentation begins with an overview of the basic concepts and
progresses into a
comprehensive discussion of technical topics. Topics covered are the effects
of fixation,
enzymatic digestion, epitope retrieval, quenching, blocking, optimal
titration, quality control and the importance of quality assurance in the
immunohistochemistry lab. The technician's ability to identify and correct
technical problems will be addressed interactively. Immunohistochemistry has
become a routinely used diagnostic tool. The benefit of utilizing panels of
antibodies as opposed to a single antibody will be covered to highlight the
importance Immunohistochemistry plays in daily diagnostic decision-making.
