Subject: Liquid Nitrogen Freeze artifact

Hi

Recently someone has been freezing muscles wrapped in foil in liquid
nitrogen. The tissue presents itself as totally unfrozen upon unwrapping the
foil. I say that it is trapping CO2 around the tissue and preventing it from
freezing, kind of like a vapor lock. Am I right or even close?
