RE: Cryo-sectioning mouse lung

From:"Favara, Cynthia (NIH/NIAID)"

David,

This is the second post from the U - are you adding a histology unit up
there?

I did some frozen sections on mouse lungs more than a few years ago and was
able to get beautiful sections. After removing the lung infiltrate with
dilution of OCT - can't remember but I think it was 50-50 in PBS or tris,
freeze and you get wonderful sections that are not collapsed.

Gayle Callis uses an OCT dilution for her mouse intestines and she may have
that on the top of her head. She is truly the guru of cryosectioning mouse
tissue in MT if no the US so look for her post!

Good Luck

First I would like to thank every one who responded to my inquiry about
embryonic mouse spinal cord sectioning. Now I need advice on
Cryo-sectioning adult mouse lungs. What tips do you all have? What
problems am I likely to run into?
