Marbles in BR xylene recycler

It has been mentioned to me that you can use glass marbles rather than boiling chips in the BR recyclers.

Since a bag of marbles will cost me $5.00, whilst BR Boiling chips (BC20) will cost $A155, the savings are obvious.

Would anyone have any thourghts on the safety of this?

Thanks muchly,
